It is also known as the Columbian Island for its historical link to the Discovery of America. The least touristy and most peaceful of the Canary Islands, La Gomera boasts traditional villages, breathtaking landscapes and quiet scenery. Its capital, San Sebastián de La Gomera, was founded in the 15th century and developed thanks to the terracing of the steep slopes around a cove into a natural harbor. In this extraordinary setting lies the Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This laurel forest area offers views of the “roques,” typical rocky formations of the Atlantic.

At the end of the visit, “Gomero” lunch with demonstration of the “Silbo,” the unique whistled language of the island, still practiced today.

This place holds a special position in the heart of the inhabitants of Tenerife and the Canary Islands, with a cultural significance dating back to the indigenous Guanche people. According to Guanche beliefs, Mount Teide was the dwelling place of the supreme god Guayota, responsible for the volcanic eruptions that shaped the island.

The Teide National Park includes the central part of the island and the majestic peak itself. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007, it hosts a variety of wonders such as the Valle de Ucanca, vast fields of volcanic sand, spectacular views of Mount Teide and the surrounding landscape. The varied landscapes of Mount Teide, ranging from subtropical forests to alpine deserts, create an authentic biodiversity hotspot, with over 1,000 plant species and many animal species.

In the afternoon, return to San Cristobal. Free time for shopping and relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 – Gardens and history between Puerto de la Cruz and La Orotava

Breakfast at the hotel. Meeting with the guide and transfer to the northern part of the island.

Visit to Puerto de la Cruz Botanical Garden, the most important botanical garden in Tenerife. The project of this garden was born with the idea of bringing to the Iberian Peninsula plants from the New World, America. Tenerife served as an acclimatization center for these plants before being transferred to Spain. The garden became enriched with biodiversity following major Spanish botanical expeditions in the 18th century to the Philippines, Central America, Colombia and Peru.
Another magical place in Puerto de la Cruz is the Sitio Litre Orchid Garden, the oldest in Tenerife, with more than 220 years of history, housing a private mansion dating back to 1730. It contains the largest collection of orchids on the island, a huge and ancient dragon tree, and memories of famous visitors such as Humboldt and Agatha Christie.

This space also features a cafeteria and a boutique specialized in typical products where lunch will take place.

Another green attraction not to be missed is the “Historic Garden of Martiánez,” immersed in the old Hotel Martiánez. It is a beautiful place, ideal for walks and afternoons dedicated to reading. Finally, visit to the historic center of La Orotava, declared a “historic-artistic complex” thanks to its 16th-century palaces, churches and noble houses, which have made it the symbol of the city.

Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

At the end of the visits, return by ferry to Tenerife. Transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
