Visit to the  garden Torricella di Porano, owned by Countess Mila Brachetti Peretti since 1986.  Guided tour of the garden by Dr. Antonio Pacifico, who will remain with the group throughout the tour. The garden is the result of a wonderful blend between the good taste of the owner and the professionalism of the famous landscape Architect Pejrone. The garden features t exotic plants and the many varieties of roses. From the hill you can admire a spectacular view that will make your visit even more enjoyable.

Day 2

Breakfast in Hotel.

Full day Excursion through a circuit of private gardens in the Calanchi valley.

Visit to  Canonica Garden, which offers a breath-taking view of the Calanchi and Mediterranean plants including evergreen bushes and fragrant essences.

Next visit is  La Vigna, owned by the D’Amico family, in the extraordinary context of the calanchi.  The Vigna is a lush, well-structured garden that contrasts with the bare landscape of the area; the protagonists are the countless bushes, the fragrant roses that are spread out among the  vineyard.

Inside the estate there is a superb cellar created by the great architect Luca Brasini, built between the vineyards and the garden, and it  takes inspiration from an ancient Etruscan cellar existing in the same place. The cellar is divided into two parts: the oldest one made in tufa, with high arches where the wine is aged in oak barrels, and the newest part where the wine is bottled and labelled. This section is surrounded by large columns and looks like a library.

Lunch included in the estate.

In the afternoon, we stop at the delle religiose della fraternità della S.S. Vergine Maria’ s garden in  Bagnoregio, a jewel to be preserved and tell, known by very few. A triumph of flowers and officinal herbs as in the traditions of monastic gardens.

Possibility to visit the beautiful Civita di Bagnoregio, united to the world only by a long and narrow bridge, the “City of Death”, which has long been called because of the sloping lenses of the tuff walls, encloses a clump of medieval houses and a population of very few families. Gently resting on a seagull, the town overwhelmingly overwhelms the vast valley below, offering a charming and unforgettable scenery.

At the end, I return to Todi.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3

Breakfast in Hotel.

Transfer to Spoleto for a walk through the streets of the town. Afterwards, visit to Marquises Eroli’ s Mill in Narni. The Mill rises on the banks of the Nera River, in a context of great historical and artistic importance, characterized by the ancient Via Flaminia, Augusto’s Bridge and the Saint Cassiano’s Abbey.

The Augusto’s Bridge was built at the behest of the Roman Emperor Augusto in 27 B.C. in to order to make easier the route Via Flamiia, which joins Rome with Fano. The Mill, which has been renovated and extended by the family over the centuries, is an interesting example of Umbrian rural architecture. The gardens, which includes one of the bays of the  Bridge, are rich in various species of flowers such as  camels, rhododendrons, peonies, hydrangeas,  roses,  tulips,  and trees such as  birches, acacia, liquidambar, gingobilobe, oaks, holm oaks, euones, liriodendri, viburni, caenotus, rustiphinae.

Lunch inside the property.

In the afternoon, transfer to Tenuta di Monte Calvo near Todi to visit the Private Garden of Countess Caracciolo di Forino with a beautiful rose collection.

Dinner in a typical restaurant and return to the Hotel.

Day 4

Breakfast in Hotel.

Transfer to visit the Private Garden of Mrs. Gabriella Lizza in Todi. You will meet the botanical tour guide Mr. Antonio Pacifico. The garden designed by the architect Maurizio Usai, was born on what was a wheat field, inspired by Vita Sackville West’s book. The love for reading joined with the scenography vision of the spaces. Each area of it has its own characteristic. With the time, the garden is increasing its space, spawning new ideas, and experiments. And this alteration has given  rise to the the purple corner, the apple grove, the pergola of vines and roses.

The atmosphere of the Umbrian countryside characterizes every space, and the rich countless essences combine with beautiful constructions such as the stone pavilion, an element of pool.

Lunch included at Lizza Garden ,

At the end, transfer to the airport of Fiumicino or Rome Termini. End of The o tour.
